On Monday, October 9th the gathering of the Cumberland/North Yarmouth Lions Club will hold an Open Meeting & Membership Drive Dinner. Interested members of the Cumberland and North Yarmouth communities are invited to come, have dinner and learn about the Club’s many community activities. And we hope you will consider joining the Lions Club and serving our community.
Don Drew will be our speaker for this meeting!
Don is one of the founding members of the club. He's a life-long entrepreneur and life-long resident of Cumberland. Don has been involved in a number of businesses; most recently the restaurant and retail businesses. His discussion will be a verbal history of the club. Who the founding members were and what were their goals. He will walk us through the last 6 decades and discuss how the club has changed.
The meeting is at the Congregational Church in Cumberland on 282 Main Street. It begins at 6:15PM with informal networking. A buffet dinner will be served at 6:30pm and Don will speak for about half an hour after the dinner. The meeting will be concluded before 8:00PM.
Since 1961 our Lions Club has served the community by providing eyeglass service, sponsoring Greely scholarships, supporting local scout troops, delivering poinsettias to the elderly at Christmas time, sponsoring Greely delegates to Boys and Girls State, assisting the local Food Pantry, spearheading the annual Christmas Tree lighting & Santa visit event in the Center as well as running the Lions Club Food Both at the annual Cumberland Fair.
We are proud of the work our club does and folks would enjoy our activities and efforts to support the community. Please register below for this FREE dinner meeting!
